I had soaked some chickpeas to make Punjabi style Channa masala, as some friends were coming over for dinner. The plan got cancelled and I had to reduce the quantity of Channa masala.
I was left with some soaked chickpeas, sitting right there in my fridge. I was thinking about how I could utilize them. and It struck me like lightning! My Aaji / granny used to make a lip-smacking side-dish with chickpeas! She never used to like garlic and tomatoes, so her recipes were minimalistic and simple, without much cutting or chopping involved. Still her preparations were awesome to taste.
Took the same recipe , and made it into a chickpeas salad! And guess what ? It was an instant hit. Tangy and spicy , it just adds a punch to the menu. So here you go, chickpeas salad recipe!
