Jaggery Dalia Dessert

An awesome Indian dessert , made with Dalia / Broken Wheat and jaggery! Just 3 ingredients and you have an awesome Indian Sweet , great to go with any meal!

Hey it’s my Blog’s first Anniversary! Can’t believe how time flies. I have thoroughly enjoyed every recipe , every post and yes every bit of food photography in this last year! I am so grateful for the love and encouragement I received from family , friends and also the friends I’ve made through this blog! I would take this opportunity to Thank everyone of you ! Stay tuned and keep spreading the love!

To celebrate the Blog Anniversary ,I wanted to make something sweet( obviously ). The options were unending , specially when coming from the kids! It started with cakes , gulab jamun to custard and soft serves. But I finally decided to make a quick and easy Indian Dessert, that’s a personal favorite – Jaggery Dalia dessert!

And yes I made some soft serves for the kids too!

This recipe just requires 3 ingredients , and can be prepared within minutes. Perfect to accompany a quick weeknight dinner .

I ( actually everyone in my family ) can have it as a stand alone evening snack too. The dessert is mildly sweet as we are using jaggery ( and not sugar ), and filled with fiber coming from broken wheat. You just need to have it piping hot , to really enjoy it.

So here’s for the Blog Anniversary of TheSoulCurry !

Recipe Notes

TIPS

  • You can cook the Dalia before-hand , to save on time. It stays good in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
  • When you add , dalia and jaggery to the hot ghee, the jaggery melts, making the consistency a little thin. But as it cooks the mixture will again become thick. So don’t fret , have patience .
  • Add any dry fruits of your choice , I’ve used only cashew here. You can even enjoy it without any dry fruits.
